How and when do I take my blood sample?Updated 4 months ago
Our At-Home Blood Test is designed to be done conveniently from the comfort of your own home.
To complete the test, you’ll need to provide a small blood sample (6–8 drops) using a finger-prick sample via the lancets provided in your kit. Don’t worry—it’s quick, and painless! Once done, you’ll send your sample in the prepaid envelope to the lab for analysis.
For detailed step-by-step guidance, you can use the manual provided in your kit or watch the video below - where our in-house nutritionist walks you through the entire process.
🚨FOLLOW THE BELOW STEPS 🚨
Before:
- Do it on a Weekday: Take the sample Monday - Thursday (To allow delivery to our lab)
- Do it in the Morning: Do first thing whilst you're fasted & un-caffeinated
- Hydrate Sufficiently: Drink at least 2 glasses of water for improved blood flow
- Prime Your Hand: Soak/rinse your hand in warm water for enhanced circulation or spin your arm around in circles for 30 seconds.
During:
- Stand Up: To prevent a lack of blood flow to your hand
- DO NOT SQUEEZE: Whilst you can massage your finger, do not squeeze - you will rupture your sample. If it's not flowing, start again on a new finger
- Fill to The Line: To provide enough blood for our lab to run tests on each biomarker,
After:
- Invert the Tube: Invert the blood tube 10 times to allow the blood to mix with the flow solution.
- Correctly Label: Make sure to correctly label both the ID card & tube label.
- Post Same Day: Get it to our lab as quick as possible by posting same day at any letterbox or Post Office.
